Pride Month is celebrated in the month of June around the world. It's rooted in the US and it is organized to mark the achievements of LGBTQ community. You can read more about it at the Library of Congress website.
Our guest today, Maya DeGrood is a biochemist who is going on to study Interdisciplinary Oncologist at the University of British Columbia, BC, Canada. She is passionate about finding a cure for cancer and understanding the difficulties of the healthcare system. Maya is an advocate for inclusivity for the LGBTQ community in STEM fields.
